Dentists have started reopening their practices in a very careful fashion and making sure they fully comply with the rules issued by the Governmentand the Associazione Nazionale Dentisti Italiani, that amend the DVR (Documento di Valutazione dei Rischi-Risk Assessment Paper), in order to have patients feel safe when engaging in any dental care. The entrance to our practice in Via Veneto in Roma is the photograph we selected for our cover. There is no doubt that things have changed lately to prevent the spreading of the COVID-19 virus in dental practices.
The first two steps are of the essence: a “telephone TRIAGE” confirming that the patient who’s planning to go see his/her dentist has no fever, has had no contacts with COVID 19-positive persons and is in good health. This same “triage” is repeated when the person gets to the dental practice where he/she has to come alone (only minor or people with disabilities can be accompanied). The patient’s temperature is checked by using an infrared thermometer, but above all it is fundamental that hands be sanitized, mask and disposable gloves worn through the stay in the practice.
Our dental practice has revolutionized the way appointments can be booked: one every hour, no interactions in the waiting room and aeration and ventilation of all rooms for 20 minutes in between patients
We believe that our new protocols and their rigorous implementation will give each patient the certainty that they are in the hands of professionals that take very good care of their health.
This article lists the 7 rules that as of today are implemented by all dental practices to protect the health of patients.
We confide that all of this will help us win possible our fight against the Covid-19 virus as soon as possible. If every one of us does what is supposed to do, victory will soon be within reach.
